A thin black line tattooed permanently on the eyebrows. This method is old and outdate. The tattoo artists were using body ink on a clients brows. This technique had a really deep penetration, and is not the way it's done anymore.
This new technique for makeup is steadfastly growing in popularity. We get a lot of clients who have the old method of permanently tattooing eyebrows switch to semi permanent for many reasons. Unique Brow Design uses pigments that are designed specifically for the face and not meant to last in the skin forever. The pigments are meant to fade and get extremely light over time, giving you the option to switch on brow shape and color.
This is a cosmetic enhancement that changes the color of the skin in areas like the brows, eyes and lips. Pigment (or ink dye) is implanted into the epidermal layer of the skin by using a manual or digital hand tool with a sharp point. The pigments are engineered to fade softly over time, give or take 2-5 years if you don’t do any touch ups. You must keep coming back to your artist yearly or every 2-3 years to get a color boost touch up. If your skin type is more oily or sensitive, the touch ups will be more frequent.
The amount of time that it lasts will depend on the technique, type of skin, and color of the pigment. At the consultation, the artist will be happy to go over any questions you might have. Maintaining a healthy lifestyles will keep the color vibrant and increase longevity.
Every artist has a different touch to providing this treatment. After booking your appointment, we meet at the studio and have a discussion about what your goals are for your brows, eyes or lips service. We create a drawing(pre-mapping) on the desired area. The design choices and recommendations the artist makes are based on your preferences during the consultation as well as the artist years of experience. During the appointment your skin is numbed, pigment is applied with a dynamic hand tool into the design we created during the consultation pre-mapping. After the procedure you're given an after care goodie bag to care for your brows. Keep in mind that your eyebrows will need time to heal. Your artist will go into further detail on the healing process at your appointment.
Enhancing the appearance of your eyebrows, microblading is a semi-permanent technique performed with pigment gently applied into the skin. Microblading can last between one to two years or longer depending on skin type, and lifestyle. Microblading is not for everyone. If it doesn’t last long enough for you or create the desired results, you will be given a recommendation to have a powder brow or combination brow, both of which are services we provide at Unique Brow Design.
An artist uses a pen tool with tiny micro needles combined to form the shape of a blade, micro abrasions are etched into the skin leaving pigment (ink) in fine strokes resembling hair. It’s the most natural and soft looking effect out of the styles that we offer.
Microblading can take your brows from nothing to full. Microblading can last between one to two years or longer, so it does require touch-ups. This repeated cutting of the skin can cause scar tissue. It is very important to do get it done by a professional with top notch education, and experience. Make sure your artists knows how to work with many skin types and how gentle they need to be on your skin.
If you have or have had any kind of skin condition on or near your eyebrows; Including shingles, rashes, psoriasis, eczema or anything else near your eyebrows. a better alternative would be the powder brows. If you love a full look and wear makeup daily, the powder brows would be a better fit for you.

Don’t: drink tons of caffeine, we don’t want you jumpy and hyper while laying down on the bed table for an hour or more. Caffeine and certain medicines are blood thinners, we don’t want you to bleed during the treatment because the pigment will not be absorbed. Don’t be sunburned, the treatment will be too painful and your pigment won’t absorb because your skin is sloughing off frequently from being sunburnt. Don’t get Botox at least two weeks before your appointment. No services are performed on women who are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Ombré brows are also known as powder brows or microshading. This style has a soft makeup effect. The front part of the brow is much lighter than the tail of the brow, therefore creating a natural ombré design. This style can also have an airbrush makeup look for your daily wear. Ombre or powder brows are applied using a rotary handheld machine with a needle tip cartridge.
Applying powder brows is a much more gentle process on the skin, and is an upgrade from microblading. If you absolutely love makeup and wear it daily then ombré brows is the best style for you. Ombré brows can be customized to be as soft and light or as bold and dark as you want.
Microshading, ombré brows, or powder brows can last two to three years and is a perfect technique for all skin types.
Numbing is applied with creams throughout the entire process. The procedure is relatively painless and comfortable.

Tattooed eyebrows are permanent and can last 20 + years. It is applied with body inks deeply into the skin, and can also be quite painful. Microblading is a soft natural look using custom designed shaping, facial pigments, and epidermal micropigmentation. There are a variety of colors for microblading, combo brows and powder brows!
Tattooing your eyebrows with the old method is not a good idea. They fade to unnatural colors and can cause severe tissue damage. 40% of my clients are cover ups and corrections of old tattooed eyebrows. The services Unique Brow Design offers like microblading, powder brow or ombré brows and combination brows are more suitable for the face and more natural.
Old style tattooed eyebrows last 10-20 years or longer and go out of style and fade badly. The new method of “tattooing eyebrows“ is a semi-permanent approach now called microblading, powder brows or combination brows and can last 1-3 years or longer depending on skin type. This is a more widely spread technique, it’s nearly undetectable, many of your friends or family already have this done! You just can’t tell because it looks so natural and pretty. Semi Permanent is taking eyebrow world by storm.
Tattooed eyebrows are old school; We should say goodbye to those brows and never look back. Unlike microblading, tattooed eyebrows are permanent and require laser treatment for removal. Microblading is semi permanent and fades softly over time, allowing you to change the style and shape of your brows as much as you want.
Lip blushing is a sheer wash of pinky color filled in over the entire lip. Right after the treatment, the color is bright, beautiful and full, the lips appear plump and thicker. I use a rotary machine to apply pigment to the line of the lips and the entire lip skin.
The first 30 minutes of the lip blush appointment include the consultation, color choices, drawing and shaping of the lips and applying a strong numbing cream to make the treatment a comfortable experience. The lip blushing takes 90 minutes and then the after care explanation and check out takes about 15 minutes. The overall time is about 2.5 hours from the moment you walk in the door and walk out with beautiful lips and a goodie bag!
The healing is approximately 7 days. The color fully blooms and is absorbed by the skin after approximately 30 days. That is the nature of skin healing in general and applies to all of my other services.
A strong lidocaine numbing cream is used and applied before and during the process. It doesn’t hurt and is very comfortable.
Lip blush lasts 1-3 years depending on how bright of a color you choose. The more natural soft pinks will fade more quickly than the brighter bolder pinks. After your first session of lip blush, if you get the 6 week follow up, it will help the color last longer and have an even shade. The center of the lips fade more quickly and require another layer of color in a second session because it’s at the opening of the mouth where food and water are consumed.
I have one of the best prices in town. Lip blush is currently $300, this is an introductory special. This is not expensive, it lasts up to 3 years and think of all the money and time you’ll save! You don’t want to bargain shop for a procedure that is applied directly to the face, your most valuable and priceless asset.
